About Us & Our Mission

We are Yuliia and Eugene, Ukrainian Americans living in Pittsburgh, a city we absolutely fell in love with.

After many years of moving across the United States, Pittsburgh became the first place that truly felt like home to us. The old houses, rainy streets, bridges, history, brick, wood, and people who still value authenticity - all of it deeply resonated with us.

And it’s here that Trembita Wool Studio was born.

This is more than a home decor brand for us.

Many Ukrainian families have been deeply affected by the war. Entire communities, traditions, and even the natural beauty of the Carpathian region have suffered through destruction, displacement, and uncertainty.

We don’t want these crafts, stories, and traditions to disappear.

Our mission is to help preserve traditional Ukrainian wool craftsmanship, support artisan families in Ukraine, and share this culture with the world.

We work with small family artisans who have practiced this craft for generations. Everything is made entirely by hand — from preparing the wool to weaving each individual piece.

Every collection is created in very small batches — often only 1 to 5 rugs or blankets of each design exist. Because of this, every item is unique and carries the character, imperfections, and soul of the people who made it.

For us, these handmade wool pieces are not just blankets or rugs.
They carry history, warmth, identity, and generations of human hands behind them.

We see ourselves as curators of a living tradition — one that deserves to survive, evolve, and be seen far beyond Ukraine.

If we can help even a small number of Ukrainian families continue their craft while bringing the spirit of the Carpathians into American homes, then we know we are doing something meaningful 🤍
