Cucuteni–Trypillia Candle Holder — 9 inches

Handcrafted in Ukraine from natural, unpainted papier-mâché, this sculptural three-candle holder is inspired by the ancient Cucuteni–Trypillia cultur  that flourished on the territory of present-day Ukraine more than 6,000 years ago.

At the center of the piece is a hand-painted Trypillian-inspired protective symbol — an ancient motif associated with protection, continuity, and connection to cultural heritage. The artist created it as more than a decorative object: it is a symbolic piece for the home, bringing together ancient imagery, contemporary folk art, and the timeless ritual of lighting a candle.

For thousands of years, fire has carried symbolic meaning across cultures. People gathered around flame to pray, make wishes, and ask for protection, health, love, and prosperity. In this piece, that personal ritual is paired with a protective Trypillian symbol — light your candles with an intention, while the ancient sign remains beside the flame as a symbol of protection.
